Hey you, what would you do?

Integrity means being honest, doing the right thing when nobody's watching. Integrity is important because you need to earn trust to have a successful life. If you lie and cheat no one will trust you, it will break friendships and relationships. The point of my essay is to explain how it is shown in a few characters from the bible. I chose to do Noah and Queen Esther. They show real integrity in my opinion.

 Noah

Noah was a man of righteousness. He faithfully obeyed God's rules. Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japeth along with his wife.

Noah was advised by God to do as He said. So he listened. God realized how corrupt the earth was, for people had corrupted their ways. He planned to wipe out everyone on the earth and destroy. God ordered Noah to build an ark. He trusted Noah. God was going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. God gave Noah all the materials he would need to build the ark. Take yourself, your three children and wife, and seven of every animal female and male to keep them alive and healthy. Noah did everything without questioning what God commanded for him to pursue.

Noah shows integrity, he did not do this for himself but for God and earth. He swore to save animals' lives and to protect them. Noah could have fled to the ark with his wife no honor to God, but he chose differently. He did the right thing going against evil and pursuing His plans. God trusted Noah to start a new generation of honest, wholehearted, full of integrity type of people. And that is what Noah did.

Esther

Queen Esther had the choice to keep quiet in a time while Jews were being slaughtered to protect herself and her power or plead to King Xerxes and convince him to destroy the law so even if it meant risking her life, there was a one in a million chance she could save her people and family. She knew what the right choice was but was she ready to risk her life to do good?

King Xerxes chose Esther to become Queen.

The King would give her anything she truly desired. “ Even if it is up to half of the kingdom, it will be given to you” the King reassured her. This gave her a lot of power as she is the new Queen of course. Esther was Jewish but she kept it to herself, she was a foreigner. King Xerxes had no idea neither did others. This is where it all started; an official from the kingdom was furious that Jew Mordecai would not bow down to him as his religious aspects did not allow that. Haman bribed the King to let him change the law. Haman planned to collect citizens to murder the Jewish familys in the 127 provinces and take over the land of who those murdered. He was plotting to kill Queen Esther.Esther got advice from Mordecai “ Go to the King, plead and beg for mercy against us Jews”. She was stuck on what to do… She could either take Mordecai's advice and enter the Kings office without invite which is a instant death penalty for most, or protect her power as the Queen and have no chance of getting killed while letting her people and family be slaughtered. She took the advice and entered the Kings office. Queen Esther told him everything and pleaded for mercy against her people. King Xerxes was shocked “ Who would do such a thing to the Queen?”. Haman had been exposed. The King immediately ordered him to be killed along with all the enemy of Jew.

Queen Esther had so much power and she chose to do right with it. She didn't matter what the consequences were even if it was death - if the King did not comply with her needs- . God knows she would have tried. That is integrity.
