Hey you, what would you do?

Integrity means being honest, doing the right thing when nobody's watching. Integrity is important because you need to earn trust to have a successful life. If you lie and cheat no one will trust you, it will break friendships and relationships. The point of my essay is to explain how it is shown in a few characters from the bible. I chose to do Noah and Queen Esther. They show real integrity in my opinion.

 Noah

Noah was a man of righteousness. He faithfully obeyed God's rules. Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japeth along with his wife.

Noah was advised by God to do as He said. So he listened. God realized how corrupt the earth was, for people had corrupted their ways. He planned to wipe out everyone on the earth and destroy. God ordered Noah to build an ark. He trusted Noah. God was going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. God gave Noah all the materials he would need to build the ark. Take yourself, your three children and wife, and seven of every animal female and male to keep them alive and healthy. Noah did everything without questioning what God commanded for him to pursue.

Noah shows integrity, he did not do this for himself but for God and earth. He swore to save animals' lives and to protect them. Noah could have fled to the ark with his wife no honor to God, but he chose differently. He did the right thing going against evil and pursuing His plans. God trusted Noah to start a new generation of honest, wholehearted, full of integrity type of people. And that is what Noah did.

Esther

Queen Esther had the choice to keep quiet in a time while Jews were being slaughtered to protect herself and her power or plead to King Xerxes and convince him to destroy the law so even if it meant risking her life, there was a one in a million chance she could save her people and family. She knew what the right choice was but was she ready to risk her life to do good?

King Xerxes chose Esther to become Queen.

The King would give her anything she truly desired. “ Even if it is up to half of the kingdom, it will be given to you” the King reassured her. This gave her a lot of power as she is the new Queen of course. Esther was Jewish but she kept it to herself, she was a foreigner. King Xerxes had no idea neither did others. This is where it all started; an official from the kingdom was furious that Jew Mordecai would not bow down to him as his religious aspects did not allow that. Haman bribed the King to let him change the law. Haman planned to collect citizens to murder the Jewish familys in the 127 provinces and take over the land of who those murdered. He was plotting to kill Queen Esther.Esther got advice from Mordecai “ Go to the King, plead and beg for mercy against us Jews”. She was stuck on what to do… She could either take Mordecai's advice and enter the Kings office without invite which is a instant death penalty for most, or protect her power as the Queen and have no chance of getting killed while letting her people and family be slaughtered. She took the advice and entered the Kings office. Queen Esther told him everything and pleaded for mercy against her people. King Xerxes was shocked “ Who would do such a thing to the Queen?”. Haman had been exposed. The King immediately ordered him to be killed along with all the enemy of Jew.

Queen Esther had so much power and she chose to do right with it. She didn't matter what the consequences were even if it was death - if the King did not comply with her needs- . God knows she would have tried. That is integrity.

Eating Bad Is Lame

In class, we have been learning about eating healthier. I had the job to write my own argument going against eating whatever you want and whatever you want.

Eating unhealthy as a child can lead to major health problems as an adult such as obesity, tooth cavities, diabetes, and heart problems.

To put it violently, if you do not watch what you eat and how much you do eat with the wrong foods and no exercise you are setting yourself up for early death. I think eating unhealthy is stupid. It isn't hard to eat healthily and still enjoy what you eat.

When you have no portion control it quickly leads to obesity and diabetes. Do you really want to live a terrible life? Always be on edge? Be bullied for your weight? Be unable to love yourself? If you said no to almost half or even all of these questions, you need self-control over your eating habits for the future or now.

Diabetes is one of the main causes of overeating sugary treats with no self-control. Type 2 diabetes is terrible, for multiple reasons; High glucose levels damage nerve and blood vessels, leading to heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, and gum infections. Advanced type 2 diabetes can result in blindness and you will have to amputate limbs that no longer get proper circulation. You decide if this is the lifestyle you want to have?

Binge eating when you feel lonely? Go for a run, call your friend or talk to somebody you trust. Binge eating has consequences just like any other sin. It is better to start eating healthy now and managing your weight before you struggle to get into a car, showering, fitting through a door in your late 20’s. It is not hard to make big changes in your diet.

For example; fight the urge of overeating by occupying yourself with a favorite task. For some, it could be art, reading, or exercise.

Find physical activities you enjoy. Think of it as downtime, play, not as a job or something you don't look forward to. Get your exercise by jogging to the dairy or walking your dogs.

Healthy food doesn't always have to be yuck, when you balance out meals with the right spices and ingredients it tastes like nothing has changed. Making healthy changes is simpler than it sounds, all you have to do is add more of one vegetable, add less oil and there you have a simple healthier recipe.

You do not have to give up what you love to eat, it's all about controlling how much and what you eat. Now, these are just starters to having a new happy, and healthy life. You may think these are tiny facts but they can make life-altering changes in your diet and weight.

Yearly Reflection

2020 has been a very bumpy ride, especially in schooling and learning. Lockdown work was hard, the teacher set tasks way above our level, and way too little. I barely did any work and as fun as that sounds I did not enjoy it. I felt it was hard for me to get the flow of my learning back. Especially when jumping right into things I've never heard about before. I got the hang of it and learned some really wonderful things that I think can benefit me in my future life.

Having a set in stone teacher was really helpful, it was a bit of a mess at the start of the year.

I took my time understanding how to, add, subtract, and divide fractions. I'm proud of myself for fully learning how to do it. I focused on one thing for a while. I dedicated my time to it, that's why it stuck. I've also learned how to write different text types such as persuasive, a moment in time, and much more.

I have also enjoyed the physical aspects of the year. The whole class joined in on volleyball lessons, we now play it every lunchtime. I feel good that I participated in physical activities, it was awesomely fun learning a new sport.

I've made many new friendships, lost some but overall everything was worth it.

One girl really impacted my life, we made many memories. Fun and sad, she's been here only half of the year. It was nice to have an understanding person around when I needed her.

Overall this year has been quite a mess but the memories that were made are priceless and I'm very thankful for the people that made it fun and to the ones I've gained and lost. I wish you all the best.

Labour Day Adventures

Ah... I had gained a stomach ache and lost my courage, gripping onto the rope.. Peeking down to what looked like a deep dark feeding pool. I swung my head backwards and smiled as if everything was normal. “ Tangi, my favourite brother, you go first!” I spat out nervously. Of course he shook his head with the building up excuses of phones getting wet, blah blaah blah, “Yeah whatever” I mumbled. Suddenly butterflies - millions, and millions of butterflies - were swirling around in my body making it impossible to think straight. Not to mention the wide ranging autumn leaves hid the sun causing the creek to transform into a gloomy tar pool.

I stepped backwards, hesitantly of course, forced my eyes shut and leaped off the cliff . Well I thought I did buuutt.. Maybe my legs weren't ready to make a bigger step in life, I opened my eyes one at a time glanced around and sighed. “ Just jump Chloe'' Erika was getting frustrated, “ Are you serious? We've been waiting for you for so long” added Tangi. “ Ok, ok i'll really do it this time’’ I yelled. This time I felt something different, courage, excitement and rebeliation. “ THREE TWO ONE!” Erika and Tangi hyped me up. Off I swung but the height was not what i expected; out came a - blood curdling - SCREAM. My head was spinning, hands were slipping off the rope and... SPLOOSH!

My brain froze as if I had just gulped 3 mouthfuls of a frozen coke in one go. Looking around for vicious creatures but also not trying to focus on my body turning into a 5ft icicle. Sharking around inspecting every piece of driftwood, boring old stick or leaf I pass; I may find something extraordinary I thought. But yet again I did not.

I broke the water tension as I bubbled up from beneath the water, looking to my left and seeing Tangi and Erika pecking at each other's lips; they were acting like chickens vacuuming up their chook food.

“ Get a room you two “ I shouted across the water, shivering with lips the color of a sea blue lipstick.
